This is a very exciting Announcement: Limited Edition Leica Summilux-M 1:1.4/35 Now Available in Black!
The Leica M-Lenses have earned a legendary reputation in the world of photography, and one standout lens is the Leica Summilux-M 35 f/1.4. Originally introduced in 1961 as the fastest wide-angle lens of its time, this lens continues to be cherished by photographers today. Now, Leica Camera AG is proud to unveil a special treat for photography enthusiasts: a strictly limited edition of this iconic lens, complete with a unique serial number.
This limited edition of the Summilux-M 35 f/1.4 pays homage to its storied history. With a sleek black anodized finish and the iconic silver stainless steel front ring, affectionately known as the “Steel Rim”, this lens exudes timeless elegance. The front of the lens proudly bears the engraving “LEITZ WETZLAR”, a nod to its prestigious heritage. Another notable detail is the black painted brass focus lock button, designed to acquire a unique patina with every use.
To ensure authenticity, the engravings on the focus ring of this special edition lens have been meticulously adjusted to mirror those of the original. Additionally, the arrangement of the feet and meter scale has been carefully modeled to match the original lens, with subtle differences in color for added authenticity.
Despite its vintage-inspired design, the imaging performance of this special edition lens is second to none. Photographers can expect stunning results, with images captured at open aperture boasting a soft, almost magical bokeh that is difficult to replicate even with digital image processing. Aptly nicknamed the “True King of Bokeh”, this lens delivers exceptional image quality, with razor-sharp and distortion-free pictures achieved even when stopped down to f/2.8.
Each lens comes packaged in a special vintage-inspired packaging, which includes a lens container, a clip-on lens hood, and an additional round lens hood with E46 thread for use with filters. This limited edition Summilux-M 35 f/1.4 is truly a collector’s item, offering both timeless elegance and exceptional imaging performance.
